HALL OF FAME

Luke McNaught, Year 12 2008

Luke was selected by the Australian Olympic Committee for the prestigious 2008 Pierre de Coubertin Award in recognition of this high achievements as a sportsman competing at elite levels in Athletics, Swimming, Cricket, Touch Football and Soccer. His citation includes his paricipation demonstrates " ... an exemplary effort to achive [his] personal best, and displayed qualities of fair play which have inspired the involvement of others."

Beth Smith (nee Still), Year 12 2002

Beth was selected as a saxophone tutor for the Beijing Olympic Orchestra. In 2000 she was chosen as a member of the Sydney Opymics Millenium Marching Band, and performed at both the Opening and Closing Sydney Olympic Ceremonies. In 2001, Beth also travelled to China to perform at the World University Games.

Fiona Johnson, Year 12, 2000

A hamstring injury shattered the Olympic dreams of Hockeyroos star. Her coach said "This is a big setback, there isn't anyone who can lay her role. She could play across all the lines and that is why she got into the [Olympic] team in the first place ... she's part of the junior leadership group and has a future not only as a player but as a leader in this team long term."

Brad McGee, Year 12 1993

Brad represented Australia in Cycling at his fourth Olympic Games in Beijing. In past Olympic Games, he won 1 gold and 1 silver medal (2004); a bronze in 2000, and 2 bronze medals in 1996. At the Commonwealth Games in 2002, he won a gold medal; 2 golds in 1998; and another two golds in 1994.
